JAMES A. ANTONUCCI
EXECUTIVE CHEF

Jim is the Executive Director of The Atrium at Navesink Harbor but he began his career as a trained chef. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, he enjoyed internship opportunities at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City and the Hotel Zum Storchen in Zurich, Switzerland. Jim went on to be at the helm of highly respected restaurants in New York City and Greenwich, Connecticut. He has received numerous awards nationally for his culinary operations and wine list selections.

He then moved into healthcare operations, first as Executive Chef at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and then as Director of Operations for a multi-community healthcare provider before coming to The Atrium at Navesink Harbor in 2006.

 MARKUS PETER
GUEST SOMMELIER

Originally from Bavaria, Markus, along with his brother Hubert, established the Fromagerie restaurant in Rumson in 1972. The brothers oversaw this awarding-winning destination for fine dining for over 33 years before transferring it to long-time friend and chef David Burke. Their French cuisine was consistently recognized for its excellence, receiving such awards as “Best of the Best” from New Jersey Magazine and “America’s Top Table” from Gourmet magazine.

Markus has acquired over his illustrious career a vast knowledge of wines. He has visited the vineyards and met with the great wine makers of Burgundy, Bordeaux, Napa Valley, and Sonoma County, all in his pursuit of fine wines to add to his nationally-recognized award-winning wine list.

We are grateful that Markus has brought this expertise in selecting the wines for the evening. He will be giving us some background and perspective as we enjoy these wines that have been chosen to pair well with Chef Antonucci’s food selections.
